2017 was quite an exciting year; it was the first year of my career since leaving uni, and I’m so happy that now I have enough work to be a full time designer. Something I had been so worried about while I was studying. I feel like this year I’ve settled into a routine with work and at home – Jack and I have really made our flat our little space and become so used to living together. I couldn’t imagine it any other way now! I really feel like this year I’ve started getting my life together, maybe a few years later than most people (properly starting my career at 27) but I’m just glad I’ve finally got to this point as I thought it would never happen! Here are some more of my highlights from the year:
Secured a second job
And I finally get to do what I love every day.
Got to grips with CSS and WordPress
I’ve still got SO much to learn but I can actually make websites now!
Took some time to learn Photography
I don’t always use ‘auto’ anymore and treated myself to a new camera which is much less bulky than my DSLR.
Went to Secret Garden Party
I’d always wanted to go to SGP so I was so excited that we got to go this year. We also went to Love Saves The Day and Simple Things.
I still occasionally eat fish when I’m eating out – but it is my first year not eating meat for Christmas dinner! I’m planning on becoming vegan next year.
And cut down my sugar and junk food intake by a lot
And I feel so much better for it.
Started saving for a house
And realised it’s a loooong way off, but I can’t stop looking and dreaming!
Went on holiday with Jack for the first time
We went to Copenhagen and Morocco this year, and I can’t wait to start planning next year’s trips.
Started enjoying weekends in on the sofa more than drunken weekends out
Loving how productive I can be if I don’t spend the weekend hungover!
Came off the pill and hormonal contraception
I now I realise how many side effects I had experienced since I was 17.
