Unfortunately for my bank balance, one of my favourite things to do is go shopping, so I’m always on the lookout for new spots. On Thursday night, Coal Drops Yard opened as a new shopping destination with a selection of chain stores but also some independent ones mixed in. They’re all very design focused, and very cool...
This year at London Design Festival was a little different as I was actually working at Brompton Design District, invigilating an exhibition for one of the studios I work for. It was great to be in the heart of Knightsbridge and in such a creative building, and having the opportunity to spend some time properly look at the other exhibitions without having to rush off to the next one!
Although the future of print is uncertain, there’s something so much more pleasing about seeing the colours come to life on a page, and having contact with printed paper. There’s so much that goes into printing a magazine, since there’s no changing it at a later date, and I really hope that the medium isn’t lost one day. Currently, I think there’s a place for both forms and, if anything, these alternative magazines are becoming more niche and special...
