Back in June I visited the Bristol UWE (where I studied) and Bath Spa degree shows. I love seeing work from so many different disciplines and checking out the new talent. There was so much great stuff this year, but here are some of my picks of work that really stood out and who I can’t wait to see more from in the future. Unfortunately it wasn’t clear who some of the work was by, but I’ve done my best to credit and link to their website or Instagram where possible.
The mix of colours, shapes and texture is perfect!

I love looking through the textiles section, and love anything that makes me want to squish it – these look super chewy and interesting with a perfect pop of colour.
Louise Threadgold, Textiles, Bath Spa
Noticing a theme? I’m a sucker for a burst of colour with interesting shapes, and I love how these play with that. Would love an interesting chair made in this style.

As Anthony Burrill would say: “I like it, what is it?”. Will has looked at our obsession with conforming, and having surgery to become stereotypically beautiful. I’m loving the use of light and colour. Even the yellow power cable fits with the aesthetic. Will has some amazing work, check out his website and Instagram to see more. Definitely one to watch.

Love this super bold, chunky book from Nancy Arnold’s project about new homes lacking creativity.
Nancy Arnold, Graphic Design, Bristol UWE
How cool are these? You can tell Cara really loves what she does, I love the experimentation with lines, brush strokes, and of course colour.
Cara Donn, Drawing and Print, UWE Bristol
Similarly, Amy Bateman’s strong lines and shapes are super powerful and stunning.
